A 2018 TNTP study found in a single school year, the average students spends 581 of the 720 hours available on assignments that are not high-quality. When teachers do not have access to high quality materials, they search for them online and create their own.  Teachers without high quality materials spend 7-10 hours per week finding or creating their own.
